At Authenticity, our approach to counseling is tailored to each client's needs and rooted in research. We begin with a person-centered, relational-cultural approach because decades of research tell us that a non-judgmental, non-coercive, trusting relationship between the client and the therapist is the most important, dynamic, and transformative part of psychotherapy. If we do nothing else, we want to be a safe place for you to show up, be vulnerable, and say whatever is on your mind without fear of judgment, shame, or guilt.
We pair that relationship with evidence-based interventions tailored to your specific needs. For example, mindfulness-based practices such as yoga, meditation, and deep breathing have an incredibly strong evidence base for treating depression, anxiety, grief, chronic pain, and trauma (especially when paired with cognitive-behavioral tools). For interpersonal conflict, strategies from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy are powerful. For substance use disorders (and any big changes we humans consider making in our lives), motivational interviewing techniques help to resolve ambivalence, normalize setbacks, and support informed action steps.

Group Counseling
We thrive in community. Group therapy offers an opportunity to experience connection and non-judgmental support from other women who are in the same proverbial boat. Think women can't do that? Think again.
All groups begin with 30-45 minutes of mindful movement, breath work, and meditation. The next 90 minutes of group explore focus topics such as self care, grief, postpartum support, personal growth, coping with anxiety (and more!!).
